The Allegiant Stadium witnessed the Las Vegas Raiders (2-3) defeating the Green Bay Packers (2-3) by a score of 17-13 in the Week 5 Monday Night Football matchup of the 2023 NFL season.

This result marked the Las Vegas franchise’s return to the path of victory after three consecutive losses. For Green Bay, it was their second consecutive defeat after a crushing loss to the Detroit Lions in prime time. Here we bring you some key points that defined the night’s result.

Five reasons for Raiders win over Packers

1. Missed opportunity after the two-minute break

The game became intriguing in the final two minutes when Daniel Carlson missed a 52-yard field goal attempt, and the Packers started their last offensive drive from their own 42-yard line. However, the game concluded when Amik Robertson intercepted a pass by Jordan Love in the end zone.

2. Interceptions by Robert Spillane

Linebacker Robert Spillane displayed precision in intercepting two passes from Jordan Love, marking his first game with multiple interceptions. The first interception occurred with 4:09 left in the second quarter when the Packers’ QB targeted Romeou Doubs. The second interception happened in the final quarter following a deflection by Marcus Peters, allowing Spillane to secure the ball.

Unfortunately, the Raiders only converted these turnovers into three points despite Spillane’s efforts, previously a player for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

3. Carries by Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs shouldered the bulk of the responsibility for the Las Vegas franchise’s rushing attack. The Alabama alumnus carried the ball 20 times for 69 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, he caught all five passes thrown his way for 20 yards.

4. Return of Garoppolo after concussion

After being sidelined for a week due to not clearing the concussion protocols, Jimmy Garoppolo returned as the Raiders’ QB1 and delivered a solid performance against a defense that put constant pressure on him. The former Patriots and 49ers player completed 22 of 31 passes for 208 yards with one touchdown and one interception while being sacked three times.

5. Davante Adams’ first game against the Packers

This matchup also marked Davante Adams’ first meeting with the Packers since he was traded to the Raiders last year. The wide receiver had a modest appearance but managed to catch all four passes thrown his way by Garoppolo and gained 45 yards with them.

The Patriots are next up for the Raiders while the Packers face the Broncos.
