Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love returns to practice: Will he play against Tennessee Titans in Week 3?
The Packers quarterback is back in training which is a major boost but doubt remains over whether he can play in this weekend’s clash with the Titans.
It would be fair to say that there is a sense of hope in Wisconsin this week after reports confirmed the participation of the Packers’ No. 1 quarterback in training. Fresh off of a win in Week 2, this would be an ideal time for Jordan Love to re-enter the mix.
Jordan Love is back...sort of
If you caught, the Green Bay Packers’ 34-29 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season, then you know that franchise quarterback Jordan Love suffered a knee injury, and with that, the Packers were forced to rethink their approach to their campaign. Indeed, that seemed set in stone when backup QB Malik Willis led the Packers to a 16–10 win over the Indianapolis Colts at Lambeau Field in Week 2. On the night, Willis threw for 122 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-14 passing. Not bad.
Yet, with all due respect to Willis’ credible performance, it may be that the Packers are about to see the return of their starter. According to reports, Love participated in practice on Wednesday for the first time since the Week 1 injury which is understandably very good news. Do recall that just this past weekend, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Love was targeting a return in Week 5 for the Packers’ which would see him under center for a clash with the Los Angeles Rams.
With news of his presence on Wednesday, it now appears that the 25-year-old is ahead of schedule on his road to recovery. To be clear, there has been no official word on when Love will return, and with the aforementioned contribution of Willis, there is certainly no reason for the team to take any risks. Nonetheless, this is a positive development for the Packers who are now on a 1-1 record ahead of their date with the Titans. Kickoff is set for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET. Don’t miss it!
