The Houston Texans have been a prominent National Football League (NFL) team since their inaugural season in 2002. The team has remained consistent in both name and identity, proudly bearing the name Houston Texans throughout their 22-year history.

Currently, the team competes in the American Football Conference (AFC) South Division, where they play against the Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Tennessee Titans.

Looking back on their journey, the 2012 Houston Texans had the franchise’s best season start. They achieved an impressive 5-0 record, followed by several other seasons that started well, including 2007, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, and 2016, with two wins at the start of each. However, the team faced challenges in some seasons, with their worst start being in 2005 when they lost their first six games. Similarly, the 2008 and 2020 seasons were challenging, as the team began with four consecutive losses.

What’s their NFL playoff record?

The Houston Texans have made the playoffs seven times during their 22-year history. Their most recent playoff appearance was in the ongoing 2023 season, where they continued their pursuit of postseason glory. However, the team missed out on the playoffs in 2022, taking a six-year hiatus from postseason action.

One of the most triumphant moments in the Houston Texans’ playoff narrative was their victory in the Wild Card Round of the 2023 playoffs against the Cleveland Browns. It was also the team’s last home playoff game, which took place on January 13, 2024, where they faced the Browns and emerged victorious with an impressive 45-14 win.

In their 22-year history, the Texans have an overall regular season record of 142 wins, 195 losses, and one tie, as well as an overall postseason record of four wins and six losses.
