Update:

As the calendar creeps toward Super Bowl LX, the internet is doing what it always does: obsessing. Not just over quarterbacks, plays and celebrity fans, but over the small, oddly comforting things that help people fight the hunger pangs and treat the taste buds.

Enter some cinnamon rolls, starting life in a ‘bowl’ of their own.

Learning the Maye rolls

While highlight shows break down every decision and throw by New England’s Drake Maye, TikTok has focused instead on the step-by-step plans of his other half, Ann. Thick spirals, generously iced, baked until they look like they could solve most emotional problems. The recipe itself isn’t particularly flashy. Honey, vanilla, cream. Simple ingredients, but thrown together with precision and a confidence her husband would be proud of.

Super Bowl week isn’t just about the football. It’s about nerves, routines, and all the fun stuff loosely connected to the teams that we love. That includes snacks that say, “Relax, it’s only a game.” Clearly once they’re digested by Pats and Seahawks fans that sentiment will be quickly forgotten.

These cinnamon rolls certainly feel like they belong to an annual tradition, with the time of year just about perfect. It’s that homemade, still winter feel that makes them so appealing.

Anyway, enough from me. Check out the video explainer from Ann above and then get to work making your own. I’m guessing she’ll even let you get involved if you’re from Seattle.
