When the Ravens go up against the Chiefs in the the upcoming AFC Championship game (Sunday January 28, 3:00 p.m. ET 12:00 p.m. PT.) at Arrowhead Stadium, the pressure will be on quarterback Lamar Jackson to lead his team through the raucous atmosphere and out the other side.

Jackson has been compared to Chiefs’ QB Mahomes time and time again ahead of the tie, with the two looking to take their side to the final game and the chance to win the Super Bowl LVIII. However, Jackson is a sensational player in his own right: “Lamar is one of the most spectacular athletes in the National Football League,” quarterback Russell Wilson admitted to ESPN in late 2023. What’s certain is that he will be one of the key players are he goes up against Mahomes and co at the end of the week.

The NFL says that Jackson’s top speed was clocked at 21mph; for a bit of comparison, US sprinter Tyson Gay’s top speed is 27.40mph.

Lamar has a 4.34 40-yard dash time, a number that was clocked as almost identical to Mike Vick’s 4.33, a legendary number in the NFL. As well as this figure, Jackson only needed 82 games to reach 5,000 rushing yards, the fewest by a quarterback in NFL history by a huge amount. Vick needed 104 games to hit 5,000-yards, which puts Jackson way out in front.

The number put up by Jackson checks out at 61.4 rushing yards per game, the most in NFL history for a quarterback.

The Ravens host the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, on Sunday 28 January 2024, with kick-off scheduled for 3:05pm ET/12:05pm PT. After that, the Lions play the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, kick-off is at 6:40pm ET/3:40pm PT.
