In an interactive video for Bleacher Report where Jordan answered fans’ questions, the quarterback stated his determination to prevent Jacobs from holding the record for the most receptions without a touchdown. The five-season veteran has accumulated 197 receptions without scoring through the air.
“No, that won’t happen. We talked about it a while ago, and I’m surprised he hasn’t scored yet,” Love said. “Let’s see, 197 receptions, zero TDs. I told him, ‘Brother, we’ll get you a touchdown.’ The first pass I throw to him could be a score.”

The record for most receptions without a touchdown belongs to Gerald Riggs, who amassed 201 receptions during a 10-year career without ever reaching the end zone after catching a pass.
Last year, Love completed numerous passes, with 68 of them connecting with running backs. This is due to offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich’s system, which favors the running game and play-action. Last year, the quarterback generated 1,105 yards on play-action plays.
What’s the situation with Jordan Love’s contract extension?
In May 2023, Love signed a one-year, $13.5 million contract extension. This makes the 25-year-old quarterback eligible to negotiate a new salary agreement before becoming a free agent at the end of the 2024 season, though the team has yet to make any public moves.
