SUPER BOWL 2024

How much do Super Bowl tickets cost for the 49ers - Chiefs game?

In a rematch of 2020, the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will square off to settle the score on the bragging rights for the NFL 2023 season.

The reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl to defend their crown and seal their place in history as a true football dynasty. Seven straight AFC Championship appearances, with two Super Bowl wins during that stretch, makes them a veritable force to be reckoned with. But for many fans, the “dynasty” label is still just a bit too much to bestow upon them. One more Lombardi Trophy would make that argument disappear entirely, with even the most surly opponent forced to acquiesce.

The 49ers are on the other end of that spectrum, just beginning to define themselves by championships. With only three NFC championship appearances and one Super Bowl appearance in the past five years, the Niners are a team on whom greatness historically rests. It may be tarnished of late, but they wear the mantle of a team who feel that their return to greatness is a foregone conclusion.

To be sure, this is a game to watch. Not just for the spectacle of the Super Bowl, which often gets by as a wonderful exhibit, a world-class display of showmanship, but absolutely dismal football. Not so this year. This game is the best you can hope to see.

But to get there in person is not going to be cheap. A ticket to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will set you back an eye-watering amount, making this game the most expensive Super Bowl in history.

As of going to press, the average price on TickPick is $9,815, nearly doubling that of last year. The previous record price of $7,046 was for the 2021 Super Bowl in Tampa, Florida, where fans’ desire to see Tom Brady one last time on the biggest of all stages fuelled the fever.

With fans from both teams well known for travelling far and wide to watch their teams win silverware, it looks like Vegas is going to be heaving with the faithful on both sides. And they will all have to pay a hefty price to be there.
