Though details remain unclear at this time, what we do know is that Jacksonville’s defensive stalwart is now facing suspension in connection with the league’s drug policy. Needless to say, this is not a good look for the play or the team.

Cam Robison suspended for PED violation

According to reports, the NFL is set to suspend Jacksonville Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson for four games after he violated the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Robinson has of course been an integral part of the Jaguars; defensive line since the team drafted him in the second round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Though it remains unclear what exactly Robinson has done wrong, it is now evident that he is going to be punished for it. Worse still for the 27-year-old is the fact that the coming suspension will in fact void the remaining guaranteed money in his contract. If you didn’t know Robinson has completed two of the three years on his $54 million extension which he signed in 2022. It remains to be seen as to what effect this will have on his career, in general, going forward.

How will the Jaguars replace Cam Robinson?

You may have seen the Jaguars select Oklahoma’s OT, Anton Harrison with the No. 27 overall pick in the NFL Draft back in April. Assuming you did, then you will know the team has a solid replacement for Robinson across the first four games of the coming season. Indeed, if Harrison can prove himself, it may well be that Robinson finds himself in a sticky situation when he returns. This after all is a team that made its first postseason trip since 2017 and will undoubtedly be looking to build on what has to be considered a season of improvement for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Regarding what games Robinson will miss, it’s the Colts, Super Bowl champions Chiefs, Texans, and Falcons that his team will face before he returns. If he does return in Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills, it will be interesting to see what situation he finds. Keep an eye on this one.
