The connection between C.J. Stroud and Stefon Diggs is only four months old. However, their chemistry was impressive at Thursday’s joint practice between the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Rams.

The Texans, led by the Stroud-Diggs duo, are considered a rising team in the AFC and are seen as potential postseason contenders, much like the Rams. They will be a good test for the Rams’ backups in the upcoming final preseason game. The Texans have a talented roster on offense and defense, with players like Ben Skowronek, Cam Akers, and Robert Woods having ties to the Rams.

That public joint practice, which marked the end of the training camp, is likely the last opportunity for fans to see Houston’s starters before the season opener on September 8. Before that, the Texans organization had to cut their 90-person player roster to just 53, and the final date was next Tuesday, August 27.

The Texans will face the Rams in their preseason finale on Saturday at noon ET, giving fans one more chance to see their team in action before the regular season begins.

Will the young Houston Texans QB be on the playing roster for the Saturday game?

During the two-hour joint practice on Thursday, Stafford, the quarterback of the LA Rams, and Stroud received extensive work.

Considering their workload, neither quarterback is expected to play in Saturday’s final preseason game for both teams.

Stafford, who has recently missed practice time due to a tight hamstring, is also contending with a cut on his left thumb.
