SUPER BOWL LVII

Is Donna Kelce’s jersey of Travis and Jason available to buy? Who designed it?

One of the stories of Super Bowl 2023 is that of the brothers facing each other as the Chiefs and Eagles play out the NFL finale.

Given just how many youngsters aspire to be professional sportsmen and women, it’s quite incredible to think that two members of the very same family will take to the same field at the same Super BowlIt’s obviously in the genes. As I’m sure you’ll know, Jason and Travis Kelce are about to make history as the first brothers ever to play against each other in the NFL’s showpiece game.

Center Jason, the elder of the two, has been on the Philadelphia Eagles’ roster since 2011, has been selected as a First-team All-Pro five times and elected to the Pro Bowl on six occasions. And, of course, he won Super Bowl LII in February 2018.

Travis, a tight end, has played for the Chiefs since 2013 and made the All-Pro first team four times, been elected to the Pro Bowl on eight occasions and won Super Bowl LIV in February 2020.

The duo have had similar achievements throughout their career but something’s got to give in Glendale. The next family dinner could be awkward.

Donna Kelce’s Super Bowl dilemma

And spare a thought for the Kelce family and in particular Jason and Travis’ mother Donna, who has taken to Twitter to highlight the dilemma she faces before, during and after Sunday’s game in Arizona.

Most soccer fans will tell you that buying a half-and-half scarf is only allowed under incredibly specific circumstances which involve two teams that could never have any kind of rivalry with each other whatsoever (even then, that’s pushing it). Well, Donna Kelce has taken things one step further by acquiring a selection of split clothing which bears both the colours of Jason’s Eagles and Travis’ Chiefs, as well as their names. Although in her case, it’s completely understandable.

Who designed the custom split Eagles-Chiefs shirt?

I have two split jerseys, one split jean jacket, and two split shoes,” said Donna, speaking to Insider. “One was made for me the first time the Eagles and the Chiefs played each other. It was several years ago, I think in 2017. It was made by a seamstress in Cleveland. It’s one of my favourites. I don’t get to wear it a lot. Because they’re in different conferences, they only play each other every four years. So they don’t play each other a lot.”

In another interview with GQ Sports, Kelce also revealed that “an individual in Cleveland” had sewn the halves of the two shirts together for one of the jerseys. “There’s a shoulder that’s the Eagles, a Chiefs shoulder, the front is the Chiefs and the Eagles on the back. They don’t have the same numbers, so it’s easier to just do that.” She also explained that Maryland-based company Passion For Ezra, who specialise in custom designs, had made the split jean jacket.

Is the jersey available to buy?

Kelce told Inside that the original jersey had been designed for her back in 2017 and it did initially get some media attention but it has taken until now – with her sons having both made it to the Super Bowl – for it to make its way back into the public eye. While you can buy a t-shirt sporting a picture of a petition for ‘Mama Kelce’ to do the Super Bowl coin toss, it doesn’t appear as if a split Eagle-Chiefs jersey is on the market just yet. But given the attention that it has attracted, you can probably expect that to change fairly soon.
