Josh Allen’s incredible revelation during MVP-level season
The quarterback is leading his team into the offseason in style once again, but has been keeping a little information hidden from most.
Josh Allen is one of the frontrunners for the NFL MVP Award for the 2024 season, leading the Buffalo Bills to the top of the AFC East and in contention for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. However, the quarterback’s remarkable season has become even more legendary with the revelation that he’s been playing through a fractured left hand.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, Allen sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of the season openeragainst the Arizona Cardinals. While diving for the end zone, he landed awkwardly after hurdling defenders, resulting in the fracture.
Despite the injury, the University of Wyoming alum has been phenomenal, amassing 3,395 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and just five interceptions, with a 64.4% completion rate. Allen has also been a consistent threat on the ground, recording 484 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 91 carries.
Allen’s historic MVP chase for the Bills
Should Allen secure the MVP award, he would join an exclusive club of Buffalo Bills legends. Only two players in franchise history have won the NFL MVP:
Allen has come close to MVP glory before. In 2020, he finished second behind Aaron Rodgers, and last season, he ranked fifth in the voting, trailing Lamar Jackson, Dak Prescott, Christian McCaffrey, and Brock Purdy.
Now, playing through adversity, Allen looks poised to etch his name into NFL history alongside the Bills’ greatest.
