Kelly Clarkson to open NFL Christmas Gameday on Netflix with festive performance
Clarkson will launch Netflix’s NFL Christmas Gameday with a special performance as the Cowboys, Commanders, Lions, and Vikings headline the holiday slate.
Kelly Clarkson is headed for the NFL’s biggest holiday stage. The multi-platinum singer, Emmy-winning talk-show host, and proud Texas native will officially open NFL Christmas Gameday 2025 on Netflix, the platform announced Thursday.
Clarkson will kick off the globally streamed Christmas broadcast with a festive performance of her fan-favorite hit “Underneath the Tree,” blending her signature holiday spirit with her lifelong passion for football, and especially for her hometown Dallas Cowboys.
A Christmas Day doubleheader on Netflix
Netflix’s second year broadcasting NFL Christmas Day football features two marquee NFC rivalry matchups:
- Cowboys vs Commanders - 1 p.m. ET from Northwest Stadium
- Lions vs Vikings - 4:30 p.m. ET from U.S. Bank Stadium
Both games stream worldwide on all Netflix plans, with CBS Sports handling game production and NFL Media overseeing pregame, postgame, and halftime coverage.
Star-studded broadcast team
This year’s NFL Christmas lineup will feature familiar faces alongside new additions. Returning to the booth are Ian and Noah Eagle, Kay Adams, and former NFL stars Drew Brees, Manti Te’o, and Nate Burleson.
They’ll be joined by several high-profile newcomers, including Hall of Fame receiver Michael Irvin, Commanders running back Austin Ekeler, and WWE superstar Seth Rollins, who will lend both holiday energy and football insight to the all-day broadcast.
Last year, Netflix made history by broadcasting its first NFL Christmas Gameday, delivering two of the most-streamed games ever, including the now-iconic “Beyoncé Bowl” halftime show in Houston.
How to watch
No special subscription tier is required. Christmas Day NFL games are included in every Netflix plan. Fans can simply log in on December 25 and select the live game feed. Kickoff for Cowboys-Commanders begins the holiday showcase at 1 p.m. ET, followed by Lions-Vikings at 4:30 p.m. ET.
