Kenneth Walker III — the Super Bowl LX MVP — is wasting no time trying to settle into life with his new team, the Kansas City Chiefs. After four seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, the star running back says he feels genuinely appreciated for the first time in a while.

Walker hit free agency knowing his chances of staying in Seattle were slim. “Things didn’t go the way I expected, and that’s OK,” he told Pro Football Talk. “It was good for the team. So yeah, at some point during the season, and then when we got to free agency, I already knew I wasn’t going back.”

A fresh start in Kansas City

Walker signed a three‑year, $45 million contract with Kansas City, including $28.7 million guaranteed. The Chiefs are counting on him to be their lead back after letting Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt walk in free agency.

It’s a really gratifying feeling to be appreciated and wanted somewhere,” Walker said this week. “The guys support me, the coaching staff supports me. I know they have big expectations for me, and I’m ready for them.”

Walker’s production speaks for itself

Last season, Walker rushed for:

  • 1,027 yards
  • 5 touchdowns
  • 4.6 yards per carry
  • 17 games played

And on the biggest stage, he delivered. In Super Bowl LX, Walker racked up 135 yards on 27 carries, powering Seattle to a 29–13 win over the New England Patriots.
