The Miami Dolphins have agreed to a three-year, $67.75 million contract extension with defensive tackle Zach Sieler, including $44 million guaranteed.

Sieler had two years remaining on his current deal, and this extension makes him the highest-paid defensive player on the team. He’s earned that status by posting back-to-back 10-sack seasons, solidifying his role as a defensive cornerstone.

Originally drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens, Sieler was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins in 2019 and eventually established himself as a starter by 2022.

The Dolphins are aiming to return to playoff contention after finishing last season with a disappointing 8–9 record. Notably, the franchise hasn’t won a postseason game since 2000.

On defense, Miami has suffered key losses in the offseason: Jalen Ramsey departed for the Pittsburgh Steelers, while Jevon Holland signed with the New York Giants in free agency.
