Update:

It was one of the most stunning preseason moves in the history of the NFL. Micah Parsons was dealt from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers just days before the season, and now that the season has come and gone Parsons shared his thoughts on his former boss Jerry Jones.

Parsons lands in Lambeau after holdout

It was a long and drama filled offseason in Dallas as Parsons held out during the preseason awaiting an offer from the Cowboys. Parsons had established himself as one of the premier pass rushers in the game and was waiting to be rewarded with a contract extension from the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones, as he always does, tried to play it cool, even going to the media claiming that a deal was far from finalizing. While Jones’ comments were a bit shocking, it was par for the course from the Cowboys owner who never shies away from the cameras in attempts to make some nationwide headlines.

In the end, Jones stuck to his convictions and ended up trading away Parson to the Packers a week before the season started. In return the Cowboys got three time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark and a 2026 and 2027 first round draft pick.

Parsons thankful for time in Dallas

Parsons got what he was looking for in Green Bay, signing a four-year $188 million contract which made him the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. In a summer that guys like Myles Garrett and Maxx Crosby got massive deals, Parsons came into the season as the biggest winner, but Parsons didn’t leave Dallas happy with how everything went down.

The now Packer told Clarence Hill of All City DLLS Cowboys, “I just wish somethings would have never happened. You know what I mean? I wish that he never brought me into the office and just let the agent speak. And I wish he hadn’t compromised our relationship. I thought me and Jerry had a good relationship up to that point until this offseason, and it’s sad that it went to shit like that.”

The Cowboys struggled this season, espcially on the defensive end after getting rid of Parsons, and missed the playoffs after a 7-9-1 campaign. The Packers finished 9-7-1 and made the playoffs but lost to the Chicago Bears in the Divisional Round but had to play without Parsons for the final stretch of the season after he tore his ACL in mid December.

Despite getting traded from Dallas, Parsons said he has no hard feelings towards Jone. “I don’t know about Jerry, but I have no bad blood,” Parsons said. “If I saw Jerry today, I would shake hands with him and say thank you for the opportunity I had to be a Cowboy.”
