Estados Unidos Update:

The Green Bay Packers have landed one of the NFL’s biggest defensive stars, pulling off a blockbuster deal to acquire Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys. The move not only shakes up the NFC but also sends shockwaves across the entire league.

A record-setting deal from Green Bay

Parsons joins Green Bay on a record four-year, $188 million contract that includes $136 million guaranteed. His new average salary of $47 million per season makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The Cowboys agreed to the trade in exchange for defensive tackle Kenny Clark along with two first-round draft picks in 2026 and 2027.

Jones insists Parsons move was about Cowboys’ future

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones addressed the stunning decision, stressing that the franchise had its eyes on long-term success.

“We did think it was in the best interest of our organization. Not just for the future, but right now,” Jones told reporters.

He also noted that Dallas could quickly put the newly acquired assets to work. “Nothing says we can’t use some of those picks right now to go get somebody right now,” Jones said.

A decision months in the making

According to Jones, the decision was not taken lightly. It came after careful consideration and unanimous agreement from Cowboys management, the coaching staff, and input from player leaders.

“This trade wasn’t conceived today. It’s been taking shape in our minds, in our strategies, all spring long. We’ve been setting a lot of things in motion to make this happen,” Jones explained.
