Fourth of July celebrations can be dangerous as many people set off fireworks and firecrackers. Case in point: Najee Harris. The Los Angeles Chargers running back sustained a superficial eye injury due to a fireworks mishap, which left him and several others injured.

Will Najee Harris miss time due to 4th of July injuries?

Harris’ agent confirmed that his injury was minor, and he is expected to be ready for the 2025 NFL season. However, he may miss the start of training camp on July 17.

“Najee Harris was present at a 4th of July event where a fireworks mishap resulted in injuries to several attendees,” Hendrickson said in a statement, via IanRapoport. “Najee sustained a superficial eye injury during the incident, but is fully expected to be ready for the upcoming NFL season.”

While Harris walked away with only minor injuries, others weren’t so lucky, with one unfortunate attendee losing fingers in the accident.

Harris, 27, joined the Chargers on a one-year deal worth up to $9.25 million after spending four consistent seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Known for his durability and production - with over 1,000 rushing yards each year - Harris is expected to play a key role in the Chargers’ offense this season.
