NFL 2024 playoff picture in the NFC after Thursday Night Football in week 17
The Seattle Seahawks kept their postseason hopes alive by defeating the Chicago Bears but remain on the outside looking in.
The final five spots for the 2024 NFL playoffs have still to be determined, while five of the eight division titles in the NFC and the AFC are also still up for grabs in weeks 17 and 18.
Nine teams have already sealed their ticket to the postseason, three as division winners (all in the AFC) and six through the Wild Card spots, at the very least. The Green Bay Packers are the only one of the six who have no hope of being crowned division champions.
NFL playoff qualifiers in the NFC
In the NFC, the first teams to qualify for the playoffs were:
Detroit Lions: They initially sealed their ticket to the playoffs via the wild-card spots but have every chance of securing the NFC North title and the first seed in the Conference. The Minnesota Vikings stand in their way
Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have secured their ticket to the playoffs via the wild-card spots for now, but they are still fighting with the Lions to clinch the NFC North, which has been the most competitive division in the NFL this season.
Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles have a wild-card berth at present but are top of the NFC East and are hoping to close out the division.
Green Bay Packers: After defeating the New Orleans Saints by a landslide score on Monday Night Football in Week 16, the Packers secured a wild-card postseason spot. They cannot overhaul the Lions or the Vikings to win the NFC North.
