The Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, two of the best offenses in the league, are set to face off in the playoff divisional round game on Sunday, January 21. The teams had met during the regular season, but the context and situations differed on December 10.

The Bills were fighting to save their season, treating the game as a must-win, while the Chiefs, despite starting the season strong, had begun to struggle and show signs of inconsistency.

During the sixth matchup between Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes, the Bills quarterback threw for 233 yards and 1 touchdown while rushing for 32 yards.

The Bills started strong with an early 14-0 lead after Allen’s touchdown pass to James Cook. Tight end Dawson Knox made an early impact with three receptions for 36 yards. Cook led the offense with a single-game career-high of 83 receiving yards and an average of 9.4 yards per touch. The Bills faced a crucial fourth-and-1 on the Kansas City 14-yard line but decided to go for it, eventually scoring a touchdown to put them up by two.

The Chiefs scored after Allen threw his only interception of the game.

In their final possession, the Bills went downfield for 48 yards to secure a go-ahead field goal by Tyler Bass.

With this, the Buffalo Bills won a much-needed road victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in a 20-17 thriller at Arrowhead Stadium.
