NFL super trade: Dolphins send Jalen Ramsey to Pittsburgh for Minkah Fitzpatrick
The Dolphins have acquired the services of the Steelers’ Minkah Fitzpatrick in exchange for Jalen Ramsey.

In a sensational move that comes seemingly out of the blue, the Miami Dolphins have snapped up a five-time Pro Bowl safety in Minkah Fitzpatrick in exchange for cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who moves to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Fitzpatrick has made the welcome return to where his NFL career took off in the first place after being drafted from Alabama in 2018. He went on to play 18 games for Miami before the Dolphins sent him to Pittsburgh just one year later. He returns as a five-time Pro Bowler, a three-time All-Pro and a reputation as a top talent in the sport.
According to reports with knowledge of the deal, the full package includes not just the player swap but also tight end Jonnu Smith going to Pittsburgh, plus a 2027 seventh-round pick. As for what Miami take, that’s a 2027 fifth-round draft pick from the Pittsburgh franchise.

Ramsey had been looking for a new side since he agreed to end his deal with the Dolphins this year, and it appears that it has worked out for everyone, despite the huge wage burden. Even so, he will now reportedly receive a $1.5 million raise in Pittsburgh, a number that takes his 2025-26 salary to $26.6 million.
