NFL Week 10: Vikings vs Bills predictions, picks and odds | Josh Allen questionable
Mike StobeAFP

With Sunday almost here, we’ve got a match up that could well be the best of the weekend, but the real question is whether Bills’ signal caller will be on the field or not.

The Josh Allen question

While we can speculate, it’s hard to take a definitive stance on Sunday’s game between the Buffalo Bills (6-2) and Minnesota Vikings (7-1) until we know if quarterback Josh Allen will be on the field or not. What we can say, is that Allen practiced on Friday but it was in a limited capacity. Indeed, he still remains listed as questionable with an elbow injury. To be clear, with Allen on the field the Bills are probably the most complete package in the NFL right now. Between his size, athleticism and arm, Allen is as elite as they come and that’s why the Bills are 19-4 at home since the 2020 season when he plays.

Should it come to pass that Allen can’t play, the Bills will look to 34-year-old backup Case Keenum who would be making just his third start since 2019 — and his first with the Bills. On the other hand, it would very inaccurate to call Keenum your average backup QB. None the less, we’ve got to admit that if Allen is off the field, the Vikings will have a much better shot at an upset on the road.

Bills vs Vikings: The Prediction

If Allen plays in this one, expect the Bills to score at least 20 points. That’s not to say, that if he doesn’t the Bills can’t produce. The reality is, Buffalo have more than enough fire power on both sides of the ball to make life very difficult for Minnesota. Where the aforementioned Keenum is concerned, his understanding with Stefon Diggs is special and then we have to consider players like Von Miller, Matt Milano, and Ed Oliver, all of whom form very strong front end to the defense. None of this means the Vikings can’t win the game. As we’ve seen now on six consecutive occasions, the Vikings have a knack for winning tight games. All that said, we’re going with a Bills win in this one. As for the score, we’re calling it 20-17.
