Official: John Harbaugh has chosen his new NFL home for 2026
After 18 seasons in Baltimore, a playoff exit ended John Harbaugh’s tenure, but his latest chapter will now begin in New York.

John Harbaugh has officially signed up with the New York Giants after saying goodbye to his role as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens following their elimination from the NFL playoffs. He finished the season with an 8–9 record, closing out what was his 18th year in charge of the franchise, but has already taken on a new challenge.

Huge interest in John Harbaugh
On the back of leaving the Ravens, Harbaugh quickly emerged as one of the most sought-after names on the coaching market. As many as seven NFL teams were said to be preparing talks with him as head coaches are in serious demand.
Harbaugh’s résumé in Baltimore is among the strongest of any coach of his generation. Over 18 seasons, he posted 13 winning campaigns, compiled a regular-season record of 180–113, and went 13–11 in the postseason. His teams won six AFC North titles, and he reached the pinnacle of the sport by capturing Super Bowl XLVII.
“He’ll be a head coach next year,” said Jim Harbaugh, head coach of the LA Chargers and John’s brother. “We’ll be playing against him one way or another.” He was right.
In the first 45 minutes after John Harbaugh was fired this afternoon, his agent Bryan Harlan said he received calls from seven NFL teams expressing interest in his client.
