Estados Unidos Update:

Micah Parsons has impressed in his first two outings since joining the Green Bay Packers, but after their 27-18 win over the Washington Commanders he admitted his frustration at being on a snap count.

The linebacker has been dealing with a back injury since leaving the Dallas Cowboys. In his Packers debut in Week 1, he played just 30 defensive snaps, and against Washington he was on the field for 47. Even with the restriction, he was a key figure – generating eight pressures, the most on the team, and registering half a sack on 37 pass-rush snaps.

“As you saw in the Baltimore and Buffalo game, you can have a quarterback play almost a perfect game and still lose because the defense gives up — what was it? — 40 points? So defense wins championships,” Parsons said. “Fans love points, they love the big plays, but when you’ve got a great defense, that’s just beautiful to watch.”

Green Bay’s defense stifled Washington, holding them to just 3.5 yards per play. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels closed the first half with only 49 passing yards on nine completions.

“What I’ve been telling everybody: defense wins championships,” Parsons added. “Jordan [Love], you give us 20 points, we should win that game. It’s about getting stops and giving the ball back to the offense.”

Next up, the Packers travel to FirstEnergy Stadium to face the Cleveland Browns in Week 3.
