Pacman Jones' shocking admission: “I never used my own urine”

Former NFL star Adam “Pacman” Jones admitted that he used cannabis throughout his entire NFL career and cheated on all his drug tests.

Update:

Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones said in an interview on Deion Sanders' weekly show on Tubi called “We Got Time Today” that he smoked weed throughout his entire NFL career and always got away with it. Pacman admitted that he never used his own urine when it came time to do the league’s drug tests.

Pacman Jones advocates for cannabis

Pacman was in the league for 13 seasons, playing for the Tennessee Titans, Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Bengals, and Denver Broncos. He even went as far as to say he used to smoke marijuana before he played NFL games.

“I cheated the program,” Jones said. “Like I was really good. People don’t know how smart I am, but like, I can say it now. I don’t play no more. But like, I’ve never used my (urine) for a (urine) test. Not one time. Not one time.”

The former cornerback has always been an advocate for cannabis and clearly still feels strongly about it today, as he seemed not to regret cheating the system to be able to smoke during the season. He told Sanders on the show that sports shouldn’t test for drugs which help with pain.

“They’re giving guys opiates, pain pills, muscle relaxers,” said Pacman. “You’re telling me that a guy that’s smoking THC, that it’s helping him perform more, or are you telling me is it helping his body?”

“I’m all for the weed,” he said.

As “smart” as he may be to get around the league’s marijuana policy then, Pacman was not without his legal troubles. During his time in the NFL, he had a series of legal issues that marred his career and left him suspended for long periods of time (including the full season in 2007), including an altercation at a Las Vegas strip club, assault allegations, and police altercations.

How Pacman got away with smoking weed in the NFL

Pacman was in the league from 2005 to 2018, and Sanders told him that nowadays, he’d never get away with smoking weed like he did then. Pacman, however, begged to differ.

“It can happen if you know what you’re doing,” Jones said. “Don’t say it can’t happen, pop. Hey pop, don’t say it can’t happen.”

“The reason it can’t (is) because they go in there with you right now,” Sanders said. “No, no. They go in there and watch you pull out.”

“You still can get ‘em,” Jones said.

Just as Jones was about to tell Sanders' co-host Rocsi Diaz exactly how one might trick the system these days, Sanders stopped him. So it seems we can only speculate.

What is the NFL’s marijuana policy?

In fact, the NFL has become less strict regarding marijuana in recent years. It’s not only Jones who advocates for its healing benefits, but several players tend to agree.

Back in 2018, a positive result for marijuana would come up if a player had just 35 nanograms per milliliter. Now, that number is up to 350 nanograms per milliliter.

If a player tests positive for marijuana, they could be subject to fines, but those fines were significantly reduced in the last year. And in the last four years, the NFL ended its practice of suspending a player for cannabis use.

Cheating on a drug test, however, could have much more severe consequences. Sanders made sure to note that marijuana is not considered a performance-enhancing drug to the NFL and is not part of that policy.
