NFL shock as Jaguars plot to release Christian Kirk: What are the possible destinations?
The Jacksonville Jaguars look set to release Kirk just three years after handing him a huge $72 million contract.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly set to release wide receiver Christian Kirk after an injury-struck three-year stint with the team.
Kirk was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in 2018 and spent four seasons in Phoenix before signing with the Jaguars. He signed on a four-year, $72 million deal in Jacksonville and impressed in 2022, but his 2023 and 2024 seasons were disrupted by injury issues.
In November last year he suffered a broken collarbone against the Green Bay Packers, was placed on the Jaguars' injured reserve list, and has not played since. ESPN reports that the Jaguars are ready to cut their losses on Kirk and he could return to his former team.

Where is Christian Kirk going?
Kirk spent a successful four-season spell with the Arizona Cardinals after being selected with the 47th overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Now, with the Cardinals looking to strengthen their receivers options, Kirk could make a return.
That is the opinion of Cardinals insiders Johnny Venerable, who has described Kirk as the perfect piece to bolster strength in depth: “Christian Kirk is exactly what the Arizona Cardinals need to compliment Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.”
He continued: “Savvy veteran slot receiver with speed and a rapport with Kyler Murray.”
Assuming that Kirk does leave Jacksonville, the Jaguars will be able to remove $10.7 million in 2025 payments from the salary cap. He had $15.5 million remaining on the four-year deal signed with the Jaguars back in 2022.
