Update:

The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves in a delicate spot at wide receiver, but former Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears star Allen Robinson believes he can save the day.

Xavier Worthy injury adds to Rashee Rice absence

Ahead of their Week 1 clash against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Andy Reid was already without Rashee Rice. The 25-year-old served the first game of a six-game suspension handed down after he pled guilty to two felonies related to a hit-and-run street racing crash in Dallas in March 2024.

Matters worsened when Xavier Worthy was forced off in the first quarter in Brazil following a brutal collision with teammate Travis Kelce. Although the extent of his shoulder injury has yet to be confirmed, there is a possibility his season could be over.

Allen Robinson offers Chiefs his services

Fear not, however, Chiefs fans, as Robinson is ready to play savior. Shortly after Worthy went off injured, the one-time Pro Bowl wide receiver offered his help on X, posting: “No cap [emoji], Chiefs I swear I could help y’all.”

The 32-year-old left the Detroit Lions at the end of the 2024 season after making little impact for Dan Campbell’s team. Promoted from the practice squad to the active roster in September last year, he made 12 appearances but did not start a single game.

Robinson’s NFL career tails off

Robinson enjoyed standout seasons with the Jaguars and Bears early in his career, peaking in Jacksonville in 2015, his second NFL season, with 1,400 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns, twice as many as his next best tally with Chicago in 2019.

After an injury-hit spell with the Los Angeles Rams, Robinson started all 17 regular-season games for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023 but was released after finishing the year with 34 receptions for 280 yards.
