Rams - Lions injury report for NFL week 1: Loren Strickland, D.J. Reader and Darious Williams
The Lions are hosting the Rams in Week 1 in a game that both teams will want to make a statement in. Unfortunately, there are injury concerns on either side.
Following a historic season in which they made a run all the way to the NFC Championship Game, the Detroit Lions will be hoping for more of the same when they begin their season with a game at home against the Los Angeles Rams. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 8th at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
Rams - Lions: The injury report
Football and injuries are unfortunately like two peas in a pod as the saying goes which is to say there is never one without the other. To that end, it should come as no surprise that both the Los Angeles Rams and their hosts on Sunday have a few things to worry about. Though, it must be said, the visitors have a few more. Where the Lions are concerned, one could say that it’s an almost perfect IR with the only starter who is limited or out being DJ Reader.
Conversely, the Rams have a whole host of issues in both the secondary and offensive line. What that means is that we can expect to see all manner of juggling in the lineups which will undoubtedly provide the Lions with numerous opportunities to profit.
When it comes to names, there is one former Lion who looks likely to play in the form of Jonah Jackson. After suffering a bruised scapula during camp, he was a full participant on Friday and now looks set to feature in the center due to that aforementioned shuffling of the lineups. As for who is out, that would be starting cornerback Darious Williams who is still coping with a hamstring problem. You can see the full list below:
