The NFL preseason is officially underway. The Baltimore Ravens hosted the Indianapolis Colts at M&T Bank Stadium, defeating them 24-16 in a game overshadowed by the injury to Colts starting quarterback Anthony Richardson, who dislocated the little finger on his throwing hand.
The Colts opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 53-yard field goal from Spencer Shrader, who later added a 33-yarder. The Ravens, showing a strong offensive rhythm, responded with two touchdowns in the same quarter – first from running back Keaton Mitchell on a 22-yard run, and then from wide receiver LaJohntay Wester, who scored after a spectacular 87-yard punt return.
In the second quarter, the Ravens’ defense repeatedly stopped the Colts’ offense, which could only add points through Shrader’s field goals. The kicker notched his third of the night from 39 yards, while Baltimore’s running back Rasheen Ali added their third touchdown.
