Russell Wilson ‘devastated’ by head coach Nathaniel Hackett’s firing
Russell Wilson admitted that he could have performed much better for former head coach Nathaniel Hackett, who was recently fired by the Denver Broncos.
The management of the Denver Broncos (4-11) expressed their dissatisfaction with the team’s performance in the 2022 NFL season and the first victim was head coach Nathaniel Hackett, whom they sacked.
After this development, quarterback Russell Wilson said that he was devastated by Hackett’s firing, and admitted that he didn’t play at the level that the coach and the franchise expected. The Broncos had signed Wilson to a five-year, $242 million contract.
Wilson: ‘I could have played better’
“The reality is that I wish I could have played better for him. Wish I could have played at the standard and the level that I have played at and know how to play at,” Wilson said at a news conference.
“He’s going to be an amazing coach, I love him to death and we all miss him.”
In 2022, Wilson completed 60.1 percent of his throws and generated 3,019 yards with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions for a quarterback rating of 82.6. In his first year with the Broncos he added 232 yards and a score after rushing 43 times.

With Jerry Rosburg as interim head coach, the Broncos will look to improve their record with two victories in the final games of the season.
For their last two games, Denver will visit the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17 and host the Los Angeles Chargers at Empower Field at Mile High for Week 18.
