Estados Unidos Update:

In the NFL, championship dreams are built during the offseason—and that means keeping elite talent on the roster. The New York Jets are doing just that by locking down their two brightest stars. First came wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Now, it’s Sauce Gardner’s turn.

How much will Sauce Gardner earn with the Jets?

The Jets have agreed to a four-year, $120.4 million contract extension with Gardner, including $60 million guaranteed. The deal, reported by his agents at Vayner Sports to NFL Network, makes him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history. Gardner will earn an average of $30.1 million per year, edging past the projected annual salary of Derek Stingley Jr., who was expected to command $30 million.

Since entering the league in 2022, Gardner has been nothing short of a sensation. He won Defensive Rookie of the Year, has earned two First-Team All-Pro selections, and made back-to-back Pro Bowl appearances—all in just three seasons. In 2024, the former Cincinnati Bearcat appeared in 15 games, racking up 49 tackles, 9 pass breakups, 1 interception, and a sack.

Gardner’s reaction to historic deal

Shortly after the news broke, Gardner took to social media to express his gratitude—not just for the money, but for the journey.

“THE DEAL IS DONE, this only the beginning,” the 24-year-old wrote on X. “My brother Allante Gardner and AJ Vaynerchuk got it done. I appreciate the Jets organization for believing in me, my teammates for the blood, sweat, & tears we put in, and JETS NATION... I appreciate y’all supporting me. Thank you GOD.”

With Wilson and Gardner now tied to long-term deals, the Jets are doubling down on the young core they believe can finally bring the Lombardi Trophy back to New York.
