Estados Unidos Update:

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will start the team’s season opener against the Houston Texans, head coach Sean McVay confirmed.

Stafford has been dealing with a herniated disc in his back since training camp. Although he returned to practice on August 18, he did not feature in the preseason. Still, he has been able to take part in individual drills ahead of Week 1, clearing the way for his return.

The 37-year-old agreed to a restructured deal this offseason to remain with the Rams and is under contract for the next two years. Last season, he led the team to the divisional round before falling to the Philadelphia Eagles.

During preseason, Stetson Bennett saw action against the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers, while Dresser Winn took the snaps in the matchup with the Cleveland Browns.
