Sneed wants to remind people who he is after injury filled 2024

The Tennessee Titans are looking to bounce back after a three-win season, and their defensive back L’Jarius Sneed is desperate to remind everyone who he is.

Update:

The Tennessee Titans got the first overall pick in the NFL Draft this spring, which tells you two things. One, they got their choice of who they wanted during the selection show, and two they were an awful team last year.

Sneed back and better than ever?

Their offense was horrendous, but their defense showed signs of what they are capable of had they been able to stay on the sidelines and watch their offensive build drives every now and then. They were second in the league in yard per game allowed, behind the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, and second in pass defense despite not having one of their top pass defenders for most of last season.

The Titans tried to beef up their defense last year by bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs DB L’Jarius Sneed, but Sneed’s 2024 season was cut short after suffering a quad injury. He missed the final 12 games of the season, and the Titans went on to win just 3 games all year.

Sneed is back, and fully recovered from the quad injury and ready to remind the league that he is one of the best pass defenders in the year. “I’m healthy. I’m healthy as I’ve been,” said Sneed NBC 6 News in Tennessee. “Last year, my first year, didn’t go as planned, but, you know, it’s time to come out and show the world what God’s been instilling in me this entire year. I’m ready to get back on the field, that’s my life, that’s what I do for a living. I missed the whole year and have to remind everybody who L’Jarius Sneed is.”

Callahan in charge in Nashville

Both sides of the ball are set to get help in the up coming season. Sneed is coming back to strengthen what was already a strong pass defense, and Cam Ward was drafted with the top pick in the draft. The rookie QB from University of Miami is the assumed face of the future in Nashville, and he comes to a Titans team that is under construction on the sidelines too.

The Titans moved on from long time head coach Mike Vrable, who was the defensive specialist in charge of one of the league’s top defenses last year. Tennessee brought in Brian Callahan who is more of an offensive minded coach. It will be his job to ramp up the potency of the offense while keeping that same defensive mentality on the other side of the ball.

Callahan was the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals last year. He and Joe Burrow had that team running at a record setting pace for the final half of the season, and now he will try translate that to Tennessee with a new QB and an already established defense that get’s a healthy Sneed back.
