“Something hairy is coming”: Manscaped teases a “gross but heartwarming” Super Bowl ad debut

The men’s grooming brand makes its first Super Bowl appearance with a knowingly uncomfortable spot that turns body hair into primetime entertainment.

Update:

If your shower drain could talk, it would probably ask for emotional support, right?! I mean who wants to be covered in that?!

Well, that is more or less the premise behind Manscaped’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial, a 30-second debut that promises to be equal parts unsettling and oddly sweet. The teaser is minimal but ominous: a shower floor, an accumulating clump of hair, and a warning that “something hairy is coming.” And it has eyes!

For Marcelo Kertesz, Manscaped’s chief marketing officer, the excitement comes bundled with genuine nerves. “Every decision gets amplified,” he says. “Story, wardrobe, lighting, color tone. It’s nerve-wracking because this is such a massive stage. I won’t pretend otherwise. But there’s a lot of excitement behind it.”

The Super Bowl marks a significant step for a brand that began ten years ago as a direct-to-consumer disruptor, founded by CEO Paul Tran with the radical idea that men might appreciate frank conversations about grooming. Early visibility came via Shark Tank, followed by a digital strategy that helped Manscaped carve out a distinctive voice. Today, the brand sits comfortably enough on shelves at Walmart, Target, Best Buy and Harrods.

When will the Manscaped Super Bowl LX ad be shown?

The ad also launches Manscaped’s new brand platform, Mancare Your Everywhere, a polite but firm reminder that the company’s ambitions extend beyond one famously sensitive area and the spot will air between the National Anthem and kickoff.

Whether American gridiron fans are emotionally ready to bond with a clump of shower hair remains to be seen. But on Super Bowl Sunday, Manscaped is betting that discomfort, handled carefully, beats playing it safe. Then we’ll relax and watch other hairy beasts get thrown around as the sport intended.
