There are no known threats to Sunday's Super Bowl in Las Vegas but security will be tight, officials told a press conference on Wednesday which played out at the same time someone scaled the Sphere in what police called a "publicity stunt". "To be clear there are no known, credible or specific threats to the Super Bowl or Las Vegas at this time but we are vigilant and we are prepared," Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said.

According to figures released by the American Gaming Association (AGA), 67.8 million Americans are expected to place a bet on Sunday’s game between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, 35 percent more people than in 2023.
In the report released midweek, it is estimated that $23.1 billion is at stake, surpassing the $16 billion that was bet on last year’s Super Bowl LVII, which the Chiefs won against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Travis Kelce’s mom, Donna, has dropped a hint on whether or not she’s going to be sharing a premium view with Taylor Swift for Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers.
Mother of both Travis and Jason, Donna was unsure of whether or not she had a seat guaranteed in the pricey seats of the premium areas at Allegiant Stadium, saying that “you can understand that the boxes in Vegas are multi-million dollars,” Donna, until now, has sat with Travis’ girlfriend Taylor Swift at his previous games.
“So I have a feeling I’m not in a box”, she continued, “I have a feeling I’m in the stands. As far as I know I’m in the stands with everybody else because it is a pricey Super Bowl”.

On Sunday the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in Super LVIII, the 58th edition of the NFL championship game.
The Chiefs are looking for their third title in five seasons under the guidance of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who could be on track to equal Tom Brady’s record haul of seven rings.
Kansas City could become the latest team to forge an NFL dynasty, following in the footsteps of the Green Bay Packers, the New England Patriots and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
But away from the rarefied air of these Super Bowl stalwarts, countless teams are yet to taste victory in the six-decade history of the NFL.
There are 12 teams in the NFL who are yet to win a Super Bowl.

49ers out to end long wait for Super Bowl
While the Chiefs have had plenty of recent success, the same can’t be said for the 49ers. Only two NFL teams (the Patriots and the Steelers, six) have won more Super Bowls than the San Francisco 49ers (five). Their last one, however, came all the way back in January 1995, almost five years before Brock Purdy was born. Ooft.

It’s possibly not quite as rare as you might think (or maybe it's just me?), although it’s still an incredible achievement for those that manage it. Seven teams have already done it, so you maths experts will be able to tell me the Chiefs will become the eighth to win consecutive Super Bowls if they come out on top at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday.
