Tampa Bay Buccaneers to host Seattle Seahawks in Munich
The NFL announced today that the Buccaneers will host the Seattle Seahawks in their week 10 game abroad in Munich, Germany at Allianz Stadium.
On Sunday, November 13, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Seattle Seahawks at Allianz Arena in the first-ever NFL game played in Munich, Germany. Allianz Arena is a 75,000-seat stadium and home to the German soccer team, FC Bayern Munich. The week 10- game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. local time, which is 9:30 a.m. in the US Eastern Time.
This will be one of five NFL games to be played abroad in the 2022/23 season. The rest of the 2022 NFL schedule will be announced on Thursday, May 12 on the NFL Network.
This makes the Buccaneer’s fourth time playing an international game and quarterback Tom Brady’s third time. The Bucs have played twice at Wembley Stadium and once at Tottenham Spur Stadium, both in London, England. Brady has never lost an international game, but the Buccaneers have never won an international game. Something has to give this November.
The Seahawks will be playing their third-ever international game with this one and the second overseas game. The first was in 2018 when they beat the Oakland Raiders in London at Wembley Stadium.
Germany has a strong NFL fan base, and the fans will be given a special treat with the Bucs and Seahawks matchup. The Bucs made it to the Divisional Round of the playoffs last year before losing to the LA Rams, who ended up winning the Super Bowl. The Seahawks didn’t make it to the playoffs, the first time in four years they have missed it.
The Seahawks lead the all-time series against the Bucs 9-5 and are 2-1 int he Pete Caroll era against the Bucs. Both of those victories came in overtime, but the single loss was a 14-5 defeat in Tampa Bay.
