It’s clear that when the scheduling of Taylor Swift’s global Eras Tour was being conceived, no-one envisaged that shows in Japan clashing with the 2024 Super Bowl could provide to be an issue. But that’s precisely what has happened with the pop icon now being a regular when the Chiefs play after commencing her relationship with American football tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs Travis Kelce.

Swift attended her 12th Chiefs NFL game of the 2023-24 season as the Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens, 17-10 on 28 January in the AFC championship game and with the win, secure their ticket to the 2024 Super Bowl where they face the San Francisco 49ers tonight.

After completing a series of sold-out shows in Brazil and Argentina towards the end of 2023, the singer’s Eras Tour moved to Japan where four nights at the 55,000 capacity Tokyo Dome sold-out in record time with the last concert taking place on Saturday, 10 February, many fans started speculating if the singer would have enough time to make it to the Allegiant Stadium in Vegas for kick-off.

Swift lands in LA

The good news for Chiefs and Swift fans and for the Super Bowl television director is that the 34-year-old singer-songwriter landed in Los Angeles International early on Sunday morning on a Vista Jet Global Express from the Japanese capital designated as VJT993 and is en route to Las Vegas with the flight from LA to Vegas taking no more than 55 minutes.

The Pennsylvania born singer will then have two to three days of time off, where she will be hoping to celebrate the Chiefs winning back-to-back Super Bowls before heading back on the road as the next stop in the Eras Tour sees the singer play seven shows in Australia with the first coming up on 16 February in Melbourne.

Six shows in Singapore ensue before the singer has a window of time off before the Eras Tour is back on the road again in May with a series of dates in Europe set to run from May through to July.
