World Cup 2026 Golden Boot, top scorers so far: Mbappé, Messi, Balogun, David, Haaland, Oyarzabal, Kane
Here’s how the World Cup top scorer table looks so far.

The race for the Golden Boot at the World Cup is hotting up, with plenty of players finding an extra gear as the games roll on.
As well as winning the ultimate prize in sport, there are a number of individual awards that are given out at the conclusion of the tournament. These include best player, best young player, and of course, most goals scored.
Since the inception of the World Cup in 1930, nobody has won the Golden Boot twice, yet that could soon change as both Kylian Mbappé already has one on his shelf at home.
With that in mind, let’s take a look at how the top scorers list for the 2026 World Cup is shaping up...
18 - Lamine Yamal is only the second player aged 18 or younger to open the scoring in a FIFA World Cup match - the other was a 17-year-old Pelé for Brazil v Wales in 1958.
