Among the most active teams during NFL free agency, the Dallas Cowboys have also continued reshaping their roster with key contract extensions and several trades completed in recent weeks.
Notable moves for the Cowboys
First, wide receiver George Pickens received the franchise tag and will play the 2026 season on a fully guaranteed one‑year salary of $29 million.
Running back Javonte Williams agreed to a new three‑year deal that includes $16 million guaranteed. Williams is coming off the best season of his career, rushing for 1,201 yards after arriving from the Denver Broncos.
Defensive end Sam Williams signed a new one‑year contract after finishing his rookie deal. He appeared in all 17 games in 2025, made five starts, and posted 37 tackles, seven tackles for loss, and one sack.
The Cowboys also added defensive end Rashan Gary, acquired from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2027 fourth‑round draft pick.
Safety Jalen Thompson arrived from the Arizona Cardinals on a three‑year, $36 million contract.

- Osa Odighizuwa, DT: Traded to the San Francisco 49ers
- Solomon Thomas, DE: Traded to the Tennessee Titans
- Jalen Tolbert, WR: Signed with the Miami Dolphins
- Juanyeh Thomas, S: Signed with the Indianapolis Colts
