The Cowboys got compared to this luxury car, and not in a good way

After Eagles RB Saquon Barkley’s comments about the Cowboys, FOX’s Colin Cowherd took aim at the team with a not-so-flattering comparison to a luxury car.

Update:

The Dallas Cowboys have a lot of haters. And I get it - they are still referred to as “America’s Team” despite not having won anything this century. They’re an easy target. And Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley’s recent comments didn’t help Dallas’ cause.

FOX Sports’ Colin Cowherd was the latest to take aim at the Cowboys, with a less-than-flattering comparison.

Cowherd compares Cowboys to “luxury brand”

After Barkley noted that neither the Washington Commanders nor the Dallas Cowboys pursued him after the New York Giants released him, Cowherd was quick to criticize Dallas. He noted how they also failed to go after Derrick Henry last season, despite being in desperate need of a running back.

He went on to argue that despite their brand prestige, the Cowboys no longer function like an elite NFL franchise and compared them to a broken-down luxury car - specifically, a Maserati.

“I’ve never owned a Maserati, but the Cowboys and Maseratis are that luxury brand that feels like they spend way too much in the shop,” said Cowherd.

“I think Dallas is a bottom quarter, bottom fifth NFL franchise but because they’ve been such a luxury brand it’s hard to wrap your brain around that,” Cowherd went on. “Like, you think about the Cowboys and you think winning.”

While the Cowboys are looking to rebound in 2025 under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, Cowherd’s harsh analogy underscores growing skepticism about Dallas’s relevance.
