The next stadium in line to host the Super Bowl hasn’t been built yet: this is what it looks like
The 15 NFL cities that have never hosted an NFL championship could be reduced to 14 after Nashville declared official interest.

The Super Bowl could be coming to a new stadium, in a new city, in a new state…once it’s been built.
New Nissan Stadium hopes for 2029 Super Bowl
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has revealed that he has submitted a letter of official interest to the NFL to host the 2029 Super Bowl, the first one that hasn’t yet been decided, at the New Nissan Stadium, which will is currently under construction.
The domed stadium broke ground in February 2024 and is due to be completed in 2027, two years before it hopes to host the NFL showpiece game.

The Tennessee Titans and the Tennessee State Tigers are expected to become tenants at the New Nissan Stadium, which will also host the Music City Bowl after succeeding the current Nissan Stadium, which will be demolished.
Record U.S. stadium subsidy
The new 60,000-seat stadium is projected to cost $2.1 billion, with $1.26 billion subsidized by public funding, a record figure for any stadium in the United States.
According to the Titans, the New Nissan Stadium will offer “exceptional views for everyone,” have “an enclosed, translucent roof,” along with “exterior terraces and porches, complete with panoramic views of the city”.
You can have a look at the finished article for yourself:
The venue is being “built with high-tech, sustainable materials” and is “designed to minimize waste and preserve energy and water”.
Additionally, the Titans’ 30-year stadium lease, which is a minimum length, would “make land available for neighborhood, parks and green space, and infrastructure” and “generate net new dollars” through the adjoining campus.
Future Super Bowl venues
Nashville is one of 15 NFL cities that have never hosted a Super Bowl, which has yet to be played anywhere in the state of Tennessee.
Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia have already been confirmed as hosts the Super Bowl in 2026, 2007 and 2008 respectively. The NFL championship game has been played at all three of those venues once before, all since 2016.
