Update:

Andy Reid, head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, leads his team into the Super Bowl this Sunday looking to win his third Super Bowl in a row, the never-before-achieved Super Bowl Three-Peat.

Up against Reid and his Chiefs are the Philadelphia Eagles, who they beat back in February 2023, winning 38-35.

Reid, of course is no stranger to the Eagles, as he coached them from 1999 to 2012, before leaving for the Chiefs. The Eagles was his first head coach gig - he joined them in 1999 from the Green Bay Packers, where he’d been an offensive line coach before becoming quarterback coach for the 97 and 98 seasons.

The crazy stat about Andy Reid with the Eagles and the Chiefs

Andy Reid is in the record books at both the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs, being the winningest head coach for both teams. Of course, recording the most wins at a franchise is often a function of longevity and that’s where Andy Reid has a big advantage. He was at the Eagles for 14 seasons, and has now been at the Chiefs for 12.

Reid’s winningest record at the Eagles

Andy Reid won 140 games in total at the Eagles, with 130 in the regular season and 10 in the post season. He never managed to claim a Super Bowl though, the closet he came was in the 2004 season when they were NFC Champions but ended up losing to the Patriots 24-21 in Super Bowl XXXIX.

The next most winningest Eagles coach is Greasy Neale, who recorded 63 regular season wins and 3 playoffs victories for a total of 66.

In the modern era, the next most winningest coach of the Eagles is Dick Vermell with 54 regular season wins and three playoff triumphs for a total of 57.

The current coach, Nick Sirianni, though is very close - he’s recorded 48 regular season wins and five post-season wins, for a total of 53… which could be 54 on Sunday evening. Notably his win rate is far higher than Reid’s. In the regular season he’s got a 0.706 win rate, compared to Reid’s 0.583.

Reid’s winningest record at the Chiefs

Andy Reid is also the winningest coach of the Chiefs. He’s racked up an impressive 143 regular season wins and 18 post season triumphs, for a current total of 161 total victories.

Next up in terms of winningest is Marty Schottenheimer, who in a 10 season spell with the franchise played 160 regular season games, winning 101 of them. His post season record was played 10, won 3.
