There’s “something special on the inside” of Christian Gonzalez’s suit
Of course, the point of the NFL Draft is to see where the players end up, but while we wait, it’s no crime to focus a bit on the fashion of the event.
Part of the fun of the NFL Draft is seeing what the players wear. It’s a fashion show of its own kind as players take the stage in snazzy suits, fancy shoes, jewellery, and their own personal marks.

Christian Gonzalez’s surprise
Cornerback Christian Gonzalez from Oregon University is one of the top ten draft prospects this year and as such, had to do something special for his outfit. Upon first glance, he definitely looks nice with a white suit white shoes with red stars on them. But there’s more to it.
“A little white suit, something special on the inside,” said Gonzalez. He wouldn’t show us what it was, but I am guessing he will reveal it once his name is called. He did say to expect “some colors in there”, but not of any particular team.
And when he wqas picked 17th by the New England Patriots he revealed the secret: a Colombian flag! Gonzalez has Colombian heritage. “It means everything,” he said on stage after being picked.
As perhaps the best cornerback in the 2023 Draft class, Gonzalez could very well be going to the Detroit lions at No. 6 or potentially the Las Vegas Raiders at No.8. Either way, I doubt we’ll be waiting long to find out what that surprise is.
