There’s something worrying about Aaron Rodgers' form at the Jets

The New York Jets slipped up once again in the 2024 NFL season, with their latest defeat coming at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts, who walked away 28-27 winners at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

With this result the Jets now have seven losses from eight games and hold a current record of 3-8, which sits them in third place in the AFC East, only ahead of the New England Patriots on the same record.

A downbeat Aaron Rodgers admitted after the game that “this will definitely be a week to clear our heads".

Jets players have ‘no time for excuses’

“There’s no time to make excuses anymore. At the end of the day, you have to win games," said Jets running back Breece Hall.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 22 of 29 passes for 184 yards with two touchdown passes, with Breece Hall hauling in a touchdown reception and carry for another touchdown.

However, Rodgers was caught out on the Jets' final push: the win slipped away after he failed to get in position for a field goal attempt when the score was within a point and the clock was perilously close to the final whistle. To make matters worse, the winning points scored by the Colts came in the final minute of proceedings, adding to the cloud of pain and despair surrounding the Jets' season.

“I’m angry, I’m frustrated, I’m not in a good place from that standpoint,” interim coach Jeff Ulbrich said. The Jets could extend their playoff absence to 14 years in a row, which would represent the longest active streak in the NFL.
