Travis Kelce skips AMAs with gf Taylor Swift - this is where he was instead

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been disappointing fans since February with their lack of public presence. Many thought they’d get the chance to see them hit the red carpet together at the 2025 American Music Awards this Memorial Day, where Swift was nominated in six categories, but sadly neither showed up.

After a year of very public appearances - Kelce showing up to Swift’s Eras Tour performances and she to his Kansas City Chiefs games - the couple has taken a break from the public eye and has been spending more private, quiet time together since the NFL season ended and Swift’s tour concluded. Fans have only gotten glimpses of dinners and drinks here and there.

So when they both skipped out on the AMAs, it was a disappointment, as many Swift fans also saw it as an opportunity for her to announce the release of “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)”. As it turns out, she didn’t show up nor win any of the categories she was nominated for.

And of course, if Swift wasn’t there, it means Kelce wasn’t there supporting her either. Instead, he remained in the Sunshine State where he’s been training this offseason. On Sunday, he was photographed in Jacksonville, Florida, pretty much confirming he wouldn’t be in Las Vegas for the awards the next day.

Kelce has clearly been prioritizing getting into even better physical shape this offseason as he prepares for the 2025 NFL season. Although the Chiefs made it to their third consecutive Super Bowl, the loss was hard on Kelce, who had one of his worst career seasons. He’s looking to redeem himself heading into 2025 before he considers retirement as an option.
