Travis Kelce plays on, scores TD, after injury scare to help Chiefs to victory over Vikings
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end went for x-rays on his right leg but came back out after half-time and scored a TD.
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, limped off injured just before half-time in the week 5 clash against the Minnesota Vikings. At that point few were expecting the player to come back out after half-time, but come back out he did, after reportedly having x-rays on his right ankle which he’d twisted.
Kelce scores TD after injury scare
The 34-year old had strapping on his lower leg and didn’t take part in the first Chiefs drive of the second, but when he did come onto the field in the second drive he looked to be running fine. And in his first involvement he grabbed a tough 14-yard pass from Mahomes to show he was still effective despite the injury scare.
And Kelce, currently the focus of a media storm thanks to his apparently blossoming relationship with singer Taylor Swift, then turned up the heat to score a touchdown with just under three minutes left in the third quarter, picking up a short pass from Mahomes to give the Chiefs a 27-13 lead over the Vikings, who would go on to win the game 27-20.
Taylor Swift not at Vikings game
Having been at Travis Kelce’s last two games, the 41-10 win over the Chicago Bears and the 23-20 triumph over the Jets, Taylor Swift isn’t at this Sunday’s game against the Vikings in Minnesota. The singer sold out two shows in June in Minnesota this year on her record-breaking smash hit ‘Eras Tour’.
