Update:

The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles faced off in a “revenge game” on Sunday, seven months after the Eagles beat the Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Unfortunately for the Chiefs, they still couldn’t pull off a win, losing 20-17 at home.

Kelce’s sideline tantrum: What Andy Reid had to say

In a standout moment, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce drew attention when he angrily threw his helmet on the sideline in the second quarter.

The moment came before his crucial dropped pass near the goal line that led to an interception, a key play in the Chiefs’ second straight loss.

Head coach Andy Reid explained that Kelce’s outburst was a display of his fiery leadership and passion to motivate teammates, noting it’s typical behavior for the tight end.

“Listen, he was trying to get guys fired up and going,” Reid said. “That’s him. He’s that way every week if you keep an eye on him so he’s all-in all the time. That’s the way he was today.”

While Reid defended him, the incident highlights the mounting pressure on Kelce and the Chiefs as they face a critical Week 3 matchup against the New York Giants.
