WATCH: Dan Campbell’s Cowboys commercial has resurfaced, thanks to the internet
The Lions coach isn’t new to acting, but he’s more reluctant to talk about this Cowboys commercial he did years ago than his recent Applebees one.
Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell recently starred in an Applebees commercial that became an internet sensation on Tuesday. The media asked him about it on Wednesday, and Campbell said he’d agreed to it reluctantly, his wife and daughter having talked him into it, but now that it’s done, he said he will be doing more acting in the future.
“This was something I’ve been reluctant [to do],” Campbell said. “I had fun with it... Unfortunately, there’s more to come.”

Oh, but that’s not all. This was NOT Campbell’s first rodeo, no siree. The former tight end actually did a commercial years ago, back when he played for the Dallas Cowboys. He mentioned to the media that he’d done a commercial years back during those years, but said didn’t want to go into details. Maybe he isn’t aware, but the internet has advanced since then. They found that commercial...and they made it viral.
And thank goodness for that! Look how wonderful it is. Campbell will return to Jerry World when the Cowboys and Lions face each other in Week 5 on October 13 at AT&T Stadium.
Campbell spent three seasons as a tight end for the Cowboys from 2003-2005 before ultimately finishing his career with the Lions. Now as the Lions head coach, he led them to their first division title and first home playoff game in 30 years, and their first playoff win since 1991. This season, he’s hoping to take them all the way to the Super Bowl for the first time in team history.
