What’s new with the NFL helmets?

Among the standout additions are the LIGHT Gladiator (ATK) and Xenith Orbit Pro, developed by recipients of the NFL Helmet Challenge, a prestigious competition aimed at fostering innovation in helmet design, and which carries with it $3 million. Their inclusion in the highest-performing section of this year’s rankings underscores the league’s commitment to collaborating with leading engineers and material scientists to push the boundaries of safety technology.

While celebrating the introduction of these groundbreaking helmets, it’s also worth noting that six previous models have been prohibited for the 2024 season. Despite their initial high performance, the evolving standards demonstrate the continuous pursuit of excellence in player safety.
