Shortly after the second quarter, Kansas City had the ball at their own 31-yard line. However, Mahomes was unable to receive the ball well as it went in below the waist, causing him to throw the ball and have to duck for it again.

With the ball back in his hands, Maliek Collins stormed in from the right side, grabbed the quarterback and tossed him to the turf. As soon as he went down Mahomes raised his hands to question the sack, noting that such plays are often penalized for roughing the passer.
