What did Dez Bryant say he’d give Demarcus Lawrence for making it to the Super Bowl? This is the expensive gift
The Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl which should be enough for Demarcus Lawrence but an ex teammate is going to make it even sweeter.
It started as friendly text messages back and forth, but now it might end up costing former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant a pretty penny. The Seattle Seahawks are going to the Super Bowl and Bryant’s former teammate Demarcus Lawrence is going to have a chance to cash in, double time.
Bryant bets some bling
The two former Cowboys spent three years together in Dallas, where they became good friends and still keep in touch. The two had a cover station before the season started when the Seahawks were still a long shot to get to the Super Bowl.
Bryant shared his concerns about Sam Darnold who the Seahawks had just picked up from Minnesota after the Vikings let him walk in free agency. The ex Cowboys WR warned Lawrence about the lack of weapons on the offensive side, claiming he still wasn’t convinced about Darnold despite his exceptional come back year with Minnesota.
The two went back and forth for a bit, and towards the end of the conversation, Bryant went out on a limb saying that if the Seahawks make it to the Super Bowl, he’d by Lawrence a Rolex “for doubting you lol.”
Darnold proves himself
It’s going to be Lawrence lol-ing all the way to the jewelry store now that the Seahawks are on their way to Santa Clara. They didn’t just finish with the one seed in the NFC during the regular season, they used their first round BYE to beat the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams in back to back division postseason games.
Lawrence is a key figure of the Seattle defense which was ranked number one in the NFL this year after holding opponents to 17.2 points a game. On Sunday in Seattle the Seahawks coughed up a few more points that that to a fantastic Rams offense, but guess who was there to carry the Seahawks over LA?
It was Sam Darnold who had maybe the best game of his career on the biggest night of his life. Now the Seahawks are heading to Santa Clara with a chance to win the Super Bowl on the home field of one of their most bitter rivals. Lawrence, Darnold and the Seahawks will take on the New England Patriots on Sunday, February 8th from Levi’s Stadium.
